Commercial artificial grass is nowadays used for a variety of purposes. Its versatile nature, ease of use and maintenance, durability and affordable price have contributed to make this material a staple of both private back yards and public areas such as children’s playgrounds or sports pitches.
Yet, even within the different types of commercial artificial grass, not every roll is exactly similar. Much like with any other item, there are several different categories of turf rolls available for purchase, each with its own unique traits and characteristics. The lines below go into more detail about each of them.
First Quality Turf
First quality turf is, as the name indicates, the best commercial artificial grass available on the market. First quality rolls tend to have long warranties, typically around eight years, and should be free of defects or faults. Sellers of first quality commercial artificial grass should be able to provide a sample, a specification sheet and a printed warranty upon request; failure to provide either element could indicate the turf being sold as first quality is, in fact, nothing of the kind.
Factory Seconds
Factory seconds are rolls of commercial artificial grass which possess a significant defect, but are otherwise still perfectly useable. These rolls are typically more affordable than first quality rolls, and could be a good alternative for situations where the aesthetic aspect of synthetic turf is less important than its performance or value for money.
Used Turf
Much like everything else, commercial artificial grass is also often sold second-hand, often at heavily discounted prices, to attract the average consumer. However, it should be taken into account that these rolls will often either be at the end of their lifespan or in need of significant repair, and that the deal might therefore not turn out to be as advantageous as it might initially appear.
It is therefore advisable that consumers exercise common sense and caution when shopping for commercial artificial grass.
